Alumni Help Plan the Future of Pathways in Toronto
In January, Pathways hosted two impactful Strategic Planning workshops, where a diverse group of stakeholders came together to help shape the future of Pathways. We were especially thrilled to have three Alumni Ambassadors involved, whose insights were invaluable in helping us envision the program's growth through 2040.
"Being able to participate in the Future of Pathways in 2040 Workshop was an incredible experience that highlighted Pathways' commitment to having youth voices represented in their planning," said Mahara, Alumni Ambassador for Pathways Regent Park. "I had the privilege of connecting with a variety of Pathways staff, donors, and board members to brainstorm how Pathways can adapt and change in the near future to better support youth. Each of us brought our perspectives and speculated on the exciting ways Pathways Programs could continue to be foundational community partners. I look forward to seeing how Pathways continues to engage with youth in all aspects of future planning."
Thank you for your incredible insights, Mahara, Kashifa and Kishan! Alumni voices are key to the strategic planning process, and your input helps steer the direction of the Pathways Program more than you know!

Find out what Pathways alumni from all over Canada are up to these days
Tapfuma graduated from Pathways Regent Park in 2013. He then studied Finance at Dalhousie University and is now an Underwriting Associate at Zurich Insurance Group.
Tapfuma was born in Zimbabwe and moved to Toronto, Canada, with his mother when he was seven. They lived in a refugee shelter, then moved around to various neighbourhoods in the city before finally settling in Regent Park. Despite the challenges he faced, Regent Park became home for him—a community where he found belonging, even as he navigated an unfamiliar world. “I never felt truly alone. I loved Regent Park and the people I grew up around.”
